Families in far-flung communities in Itogon, Benguet received relief goods that were airlifted over the weekend.
The provincial government of Benguet, the municipal government of Itogon, Office of the Benguet Congressman, and the Philippine Red Cross Benguet Chapter thru the Philippine Air Force Tactical Operations Group Baguio airlifted relief goods and other basic commodities to Sitio Domolpos in Tinongdan and Sitios Oling, Bantic and Lawiguen in Dalupirip.

Almost 300 sacks of 25-kilogram rice, 5 sacks of sugar, 220 food packs, vitamins, and medicines were distributed to the different communities in the farthest areas in Itogon which could be reached by walking for several hours to one day.
Last week, relief goods were airlifted to far-flung communities in Badew and Tacadang in Kibungan and Kayapa in Bakun.
The airlifting of relief goods is a way to help the farthest communities in Benguet who are affected by the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine due to the COVID-19 threat.
The relief operation over the weekend was led by Governor Melchor Diclas and La Trinidad Councilor and Benguet Sangguniang Panlalawigan Ex-officio Member Nestor Fongwan Jr., Itogon Mayor Victorio Palangdan, with the Itogon Municipal Police Station led by Major Romel Sawatang and the PAF TOG Baguio led by Lt. Col. Alan Macatingrao.
The officials also took the opportunity to explain to the communities the situation of the COVID-19 in the province, answer several issues and concerns on the extended ECQ and gave some of the guidelines and provided how to ensure safety and protect oneself against the COVID-19 virus.
