As young as 12 years old, John Mark Nasih had already took the responsibility of caring for his mother.

John Mark’s mother, Alma Nasih, got sick when she was just 17 years old leading to a condition that led paralyzed and bent her body. This made it difficult for her to move and would make sudden jerking movements.

Regardless of her condition, Alma met a man who loved and promised to care for her. The couple later had a child, John Mark.

However, cruel faith took the life of her husband due to dengue. This left Alma to care for their son alone, who was only 2 years old at that time. When he grew a bit older, John Mark easily adapted to their difficult life.

Neighbors were kind enough to give him money and food from time to time to get them by while he cared for his mother.

Alma would sell goods to earn some money and would beg in the streets. Last year, they received a wheelchair for free which made it easier for them to move around. However, because of rough roads, the wheelchair became worn out.

Additionally, John Mark would take his mother to school with him and Alma would wait for hours for his son until classes were done. There were instances where kids would make fun of her but she learned to ignore them.

A netizen took a photo of the two and posted in the social media which later became viral. Blessings poured as concerned Citizens extended their help.

The two were even featured on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, who provided a bike for John Mark so he would not have to push his mom on the wheelchair.

To support John Mark in his studies, the school provided him with a scholarship until he graduates from senior high school. In the near future, John Mark and the netizens hope that he would also receive a college scholarship for him to further pursue his dreams.
