Upang palakasin at itaas ang kanilang moral, binisita ni Presidente Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang mga sundalong wounded-in-action (WIA) na nagpapagaling sa Metro Davao Medical And Research Center sa Davao City noong May 24, 2018.

Sa kanyang pagbisita, personal na inihandog ni Presidente Duterte sa pitong sugatang sundalo ang mga medalyang Order of Lapu-Lapu na may Rank of Kampilan upang parangalan ang kanilang katapangan at sakripisyo para sa ating bayan.

Ang medalyang Order of Lapu-Lapu, Rank of Kampilan ay ibinibigay ng Presidente para sa kapuri-puring serbisyo sa mga Pilipino na nasugatan o naapektuhan dahil sa kanilang pakikibahagi sa mga advocacy ng Presidente.

Ang mga pinarangalang sundalo ay sina Pfc. Nicasio Badana III, Pvt. Michael Liban, Pfc. Jackson Macaraig, Cpl. Kith Domingo, Pvt. Roy Inovejas, Pfc. Roger Belas, at Pfc. Daniel Fabular.

Sina Inovejas, Belas, and Fabular ay nasugatan dahil sa pagsabog ng improvised explosive device (IED) habang may military operations sa Mabini, Compostella Valley noong May 21, 2018.

Sina Badana, Liban, and Macaraig naman ay nasugatan sa Surigao del Sur noong May 18, 2018. Si Domingo ay nasugatan sa isang engkwentro noong May 19, 2018.

The President had a brief chat with the wounded soldiers where he vowed to provide for their needs. He likewise assured them of their full recovery under government’s care.

The soldiers were given financial assistance.
